New Hampshire Reports 21 COVID-19 Deaths, A New Daily Record

State health officials announced 21 coronavirus deaths Wednesday (Dec. 16), the highest number of deaths reported in a single day since the start of the pandemic. The previous record was 19 deaths, recorded on May 6.

The patients were residents of seven New Hampshire counties: Belknap, Cheshire, Coos, Grafton, Hillsborough, Merrimack, and Rockingham.

The Department of Health and Human Services also reported 928 new positive test results for COVID-19. There are currently 6.680 active cases of the virus in New Hampshire, continuing a rising trend that signals growing community transmission.

Hospitalizations are also trending upward; there are currently 286 patients hospitalized with the virus in New Hampshire.

NH DHHS COVID-19 Update – December 16, 2020

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued the following update on the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

On Wednesday, December 16, 2020, DHHS announced 928 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a daily PCR test positivity rate of 6.4%. Today’s results include 680 people who tested positive by PCR test and 248 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 6,680 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today:

  • 12/11: 212 new cases today, for an updated total of  799 cases
  • 12/12: 118 new cases today, for an updated total of  536 cases
  • 12/13: 1 new case today, for an updated total of 725 cases
  • 12/14: 175 new cases today, for an updated total of 560 cases
  • 12/15: 422 new cases

Test results for previous days are still being processed and the total number of new positives for those days are not yet complete. Updated case counts for prior days will be reflected on the COVID-19 interactive dashboard.

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are one hundred and three individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 53% being female and 47% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (202), Merrimack (157), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (153), Strafford (74), Belknap (57), Carrol (24), Cheshire (22), Grafton (18), Sullivan (3), and Coos (1) counties, and in the cities of Nashua (95) and Manchester (94). The county of residence is being determined for twenty-eight new cases.

Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Of those with complete risk information, most of the cases are either associated with an outbreak setting or have had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

DHHS has also announced twenty-one additional deaths related to COVID-19. We offer our sympathies to the family and friends.

There are currently 286 individuals hospitalized with COVID-19. In New Hampshire since the start of the pandemic, there have been a total of 33,433 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed with 870 (3%) of those having been hospitalized.

NH DHHS COVID-19 Update – December 13, 2020

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued the following update on the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

On Sunday, December 13, 2020, DHHS announced 722 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a daily PCR test positivity rate of 5.9%. Today’s results include 490 people who tested positive by PCR test and 232 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 6,560 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today:

  • 12/8: 23 new cases today, for an updated total of 972 cases
  • 12/9: 170 new cases today, for an updated total of 688 cases
  • 12/10: 42 new cases today, for an updated total of 818 cases
  • 12/11: 92 new cases today, for an updated total of 477 cases
  • 12/12: 395 new cases

Test results for previous days are still being processed and the total number of new positives for those days are not yet complete. Updated case counts for prior days will be reflected on the COVID-19 interactive dashboard.

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are ninety-five individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 48% being female and 52% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (188), Merrimack (142), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (112), Strafford (54), Belknap (30), Cheshire (24), Grafton (18), Carrol (17), Coos (11), and Sullivan (2) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (67) and Nashua (38). The county of residence is being determined for nineteen new cases.

Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Of those with complete risk information, most of the cases are either associated with an outbreak setting or have had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

Dec 7 Update

Pearl Harbor

Today flags are at half staff in remembrance of the despicable attack on Pearl Harbor. New Hampshire had at least two survivors living here the last time I checked.

COVID

It has been a lot of good news/bad news stories lately. Vaccines appear to be way ahead of schedule. On the other hand, numbers are not going the right way and all indicators are that January is going to be a challenging month.

New COVID infections soar in New Hampshire

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services reported five COVID-19 deaths Sunday, bringing the state’s total deaths to 564 since the start of the pandemic. The patients, who resided in Belknap, Hillsborough, Rockingham, and Strafford counties, were all over 60 years old.

The state also announced 656 new coronavirus cases, bringing the total of current cases to 4,654. Of the new infections, 71 patients are younger than 18. There are currently 169 Granite Staters hospitalized with the virus.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, New Hampshire has seen 24,771 positive test results for the virus.

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued the following update on the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

On Monday, December 7, 2020, DHHS announced 1,045 new positive test results for COVID-19, for a daily PCR test positivity rate of 6.8%. Today’s results include 765 people who tested positive by PCR test and 280 who tested positive by antigen test. There are now 5,386 current COVID-19 cases diagnosed in New Hampshire. Of the results reported today, 78 new positive test results are from Wednesday, 12/2 (for a new daily total of 1,157); 244 new positive test results are from Thursday, 12/3 (for a new daily total of 798); 423 new positive test results are from Saturday, 12/5 (for a daily total of 485); and 300 new positive test results are from Sunday, 12/6. Test results for previous days are still being processed and the total number of new positives for those days are not yet complete. Updated case counts for prior days will be reflected on the COVID-19 interactive dashboard.

Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are one hundred and sixteen individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 54% being female and 46% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (243), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (176), Merrimack (122), Strafford (54), Belknap (49), Grafton (41), Cheshire (39), Sullivan (15), Carrol (13), and Coos (8) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (145) and Nashua (79). The county of residence is being determined for sixty-one new cases.

Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Of those with complete risk information, most of the cases have either had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis or are associated with an outbreak setting.
