NH DHHS Announces Potential Community Exposures Connected to Positive Case of COVID-19 at Restaurant in Raymond

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is investigating potential community exposures related to a person with confirmed COVID-19 at Tuckaway Tavern and Butchery, located at 58 Route 27 Raymond, NH 03077. DHHS has determined that the person was in the bar area on the following dates:

Friday July 24, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Saturday July 25, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Sunday July 26, 2020, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Any individuals who visited the Tuckaway Tavern and sat at the bar during those days and times may have been exposed to COVID-19 and should contact NH DHHS at (603) 271-4496 for further guidance. DHHS has conducted a contact investigation and notified known close contacts directly. However, DHHS is making this public notification because there may be additional individuals at the location during those days and times who were exposed to the coronavirus.

Pandemic EBT Food Assistance Program Applications Open Through August 24

The Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) program allows for families with students, who haven’t been able to physically attend school, to receive additional nutritional benefits if the student was eligible to receive free or reduced-price school meals. These benefits are equal to the value of the free or reduced-price meals the student would have received if schools weren’t closed during the Spring. Depending on the eligibility of the student for free and reduced-price meals, or eligibility of the student’s family for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) before the COVID-19 crisis began, enrollment in this program may not be automatic. As of July 21, 2020, the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) estimates potentially 17,000 students in New Hampshire are eligible for P-EBT benefits but have not been automatically enrolled or applied for benefits. The parents or guardians of these students need to apply via NH Easy by August 24, 2020, after obtaining a verification of eligibility from their school district, in order to receive their P-EBT benefits.

NH DHHS COVID-19 Update – August 3rd, 2020

On Monday, August 3, 2020, DHHS announced 26 new positive test results for COVID-19. There have now been 6,660 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in New Hampshire. Several cases are still under investigation. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are four individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 38% being female and 62% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (10), Strafford (5), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (3), and Cheshire (2) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (2) and Nashua (3). The county of residence is being determined for one new case.

Hospitalizations

One new hospitalized case was identified for a total of 697 (10%) of 6,660 cases.

Community Based Transmission

Six of the new cases had no identified risk factors.

Deaths

No additional deaths were reported by DHHS.

Plane with hundreds of thousands of pieces of PPE for VA facilities arrives in NH

MANCHESTER, N.H. —

Another shipment of personal protective equipment touched down in Manchester on Saturday, and much of it is destined for Veterans Affairs facilities across the country.

The chartered FedEx Boeing 777-200 is the largest cargo plane to ever land at Manchester-Boston Regional Airport, and it was carrying critical supplies to keep people safe.

It’s becoming almost a weekly occurrence: a planeload of personal protective equipment delivered to New Hampshire from China. To date, more than 1,200 tons of PPE has been secured by inventor Dean Kamen, made possible through partnerships in the public and private sectors.

“Once we started getting all this really high-quality stuff really coming in, instead of being done with it as a one-shot deal, more and more folks around the U.S. that are in desperate need started calling us,” Kamen said.

This was the 15th shipment of PPE to the airport and the 10th dedicated to VA facilities.
