Annie Glenn, Benefits, and Summer Camp

Benefits
My requests for assistance with Unemployment Benefits have tapered off. Hopefully that means the process is going better. If you have applied and not received benefits, or don;t know if you qualify, contact me and I will help you. New categories are eligible like business owners and independent contractors. It can’t hurt to ask. ~ Steve

NH DHHS COVID-19 Update – May 19, 2020

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) has issued the following update on the new coronavirus, COVID-19.

On Tuesday, May 19, 2020, DHHS announced 69 new positive test results for COVID-19. There have now been 3,721 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in New Hampshire. Additional information from ongoing investigations will be incorporated into future COVID-19 updates. Of those with complete information, there are two individuals under the age of 18 and the rest are adults with 64% being female and 35% being male. The new cases reside in Rockingham (20), Hillsborough County other than Manchester and Nashua (10), Strafford (4), and Grafton (1) counties, and in the cities of Manchester (24) and Nashua (8). The county of residence is being determined for two new cases.

Fifteen new hospitalized cases were identified for a total of 383 (10%) of 3,721 cases. Six of the new cases have no identified risk factors. Community-based transmission continues to occur in the State and has been identified in all counties. Most of the remaining cases have either had travel to domestic or international locations or have had close contact with a person with a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis.

DHHS has also announced ten additional deaths related to COVID-19. We offer our sympathies to the family and friends.

    • 5 male residents of Hillsborough County, 60 years of age and older
    • 2 female residents of Hillsborough County, 60 years of age and older
    • 3 male residents of Rockingham County, 60 years of age and older

Trust and Forgiveness

Speculation

You can always contact me to see if your circumstances are covered, or an activity is allowed by an executive order, and you can also look them up yourselves. Trust, but verify. All of the orders can be found here – NH Emergency Orders – 2020

Many people are having trouble nailing down what is allowed and what isn’t. The important part is that restriction of 10 for gathering size is still in effect.  ~ Steve

Forgivable Loans

Many small businesses currently qualify for “forgivable” loans. This is not quite as simple as it sounds. In some cases, missed payments can go to the end of the term. In others, you may be able to avoid some consequences of not repaying. The NFIB has put together a free webinar to help you navigate this.

Reopening process and the national picture

Reopening – Fact and Fiction

There has been, understandably, a rise in frustration with the restrictions we are living under. Unfortunately, this has led to social media conjecture being regurgitated as fact. The biggest whopper I saw this past week was “Florida and Georgia opened with zero problems”. This is not even close to being true. Most states are doing what we are doing, figuring out responsible steps to get reopened that are appropriate for our state. What works for NYC is probably not going to be necessary here. You can get a broad view of the state of states at Governors perform balancing act to reopen US as nationwide Covid-19 death toll inches toward 90,000

This was the case concentration looks like nationwide, and why we are being cautious.
