I Give Thanks
Victory
The recount is over. The towns of District 11 did one heckuva good job on the ballots. Al of you should consider yourselves fortunate to live here. My victory was affirmed today by Secretary Gardner. Mr. Boland gained two net votes district wide, and I gained one. I want to thank my family for putting up with the disruptive election season. I want to thank all those who worked so hard for me. It is a very humbling experience to see people willing to take time out of their lives because they believe in you. I especially want to thank the many voters in Charlestown who voted for candidates from the other party, but crossed the column to put their trust in me. I will work very hard to live up to that. Thank you Goshen and Lempster for overwhelming support, even in a wave election. I repeat my pledge that the small towns will not be ignored.
Veteran’s Day
I tried to come up with something eloquent, befitting the day on which we honor our veterans. The truth is that there are no words sufficient to honor those who pledge, and risk, their lives to protect our freedom. Their families live with the doubt and fear of the danger they face, wondering if their loved ones will come home. Our veterans make everything we do possible. So, let me simply say, thank you. We owe our veterans a debt that cannot be repaid.
