Town Waste Disposal Costs

I met with the Charlestown Selectboard last night to discuss an issue regarding burning wood at the transfer station.  Apparently, as a result of a law suit and legislation from several years ago, towns will lose the ability to burn at the end of 2013.  This will cause costs to rise significantly.  I hope to introduce legislation to fix this in time for next year’s town budget cycle so that the small towns here in Sullivan County know what to expect, and what to plan for.
