Boston

Today, we mourn for those in Boston.  We mourn the loss of life, the injuries, and the damage.  We are not cowed though.  We are not beaten.  The perpetrators have scored no victory.  When cowards attack like this, after who knows how many months or years of planning, and devoting many resources to the plan, I always wonder if they realize how insignificant they are.  While they have hurt some people, some families, and some buildings; America goes on.  Tomorrow, the strong people of Boston will go to work.  The shops will open.  The trains will run.  Boston will stand as before.  Yes, there will be some cleanup, some rebuilding.  Nonetheless, the city remains.  In the coming days, competing news services may try to out-sensationalize each other.  Don’t lose sight of what this really was.  This was the cowardly act of some common criminals.  They deserve no glory, and little mention.  Instead of playing into this, keep your thoughts and prayers with those who were hurt.  We are America.  Support the responders, mourn, assist, pray, but don’t glorify these dirt-bags.
