One of the challenges of campaigning in rural districts is finding ways to meet people without bothering them at home. I try to use the opportunities to learn more about District 11. This time around, I’ve been frequenting the historical societies of the various towns. It is amazing that when you see the old meeting houses and other buildings, that they are preserved by volunteers. One of our great strengths is that local people will come together and volunteer to do these things, no matter how daunting. I was happy to see several elected officials and candidates supporting the Washington Historical Society last night at their pot roast dinner fund raiser. Thanks to Representative Jim Grenier, candidate for Register of Deeds Chaunee Baker, candidate for State Senate Robyn Dunphy, and candidate for Sheriff Denis O’Sullivan for supporting a worthy cause.
