Things are happening quickly at the Charlestown Route 12 site.
By the end of last week, the stone slope stabilization and drainage were nearly complete. The attached photos show the crushed stone and geotextile being placed. (Attached photos from May 10, #22b and May 13 #22a and 22b.) These materials will support the pavement. They will also support the ditch work that was done between the roadway and the railroad. On Friday Casella set the last drainage structure. (See attached photo 5-13-22d D3.) And today a cross pipe is being installed.
Casella is on track to pave the week of May 23, 2022, with the road open for Memorial Day.
